TERMS OF APPOINTMENT

The following outlines the Terms & Conditions attached to domestic energy assessments carried out by “Easy Energy Assessments” and their employees.

A nominated Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) from the company will undertake the property inspection in full accordance to the industry code and standards for RdSAP (Reduced data Standard Assessment Procedure).

The Domestic Energy Assessor

• The DEA will obtain sufficient and accurate data in order to produce an EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) for the property. The verification of the EPC for the property is solely the responsibility of the DEA supplied by the ‘company’ who carried out the assessment.

• The DEA will visit the property at agreed date & time and will take due care whilst carrying out all required duties, using absolute discretion throughout whilst inspecting parts of the property which may be inaccessible, covered or un-exposed. The DEA will not engage in the testing of any electrical or heating services and will not undertake maintenance or any other type of works on the property.

• Prior to commencing the assessment the DEA will conduct a ‘risk analysis’ external & internal in accordance with industry Health & Safety legislation to ensure a safe working environment and to note any potential dangers that may prevent the assessment taking place.

• The DEA retains the right to abort the assessment at any time should they consider a situation has arisen which endangers their wellbeing.

The Company

• Following the assessment “Easy Energy Assessments” will supply an EPC for the property directly to the ‘client’ (or client’s agent) which will advise about the performance rating of the property based on the assessment carried out by the DEA. Two rating areas are covered in the EPC:

• Energy Efficiency Rating – a measure of the overall efficiency of a home (The Higher the rating the more efficient the home is and the lower the fuel bills will be).

• Environmental Impact Rating – a measure of a home’s impact on the environment in terms of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. (The higher the rating the less impact on the environment).

• The EPC will highlight suitable recommendations to improve the rating of the property, for which the company relies solely on information supplied by the client (or agent) to determine potential restraints affecting the potential for these improvements (such as tenancy / tenure issues, property extensions / modifications etc).

Payment Terms

• Home Owner / Private landlord – Full payment to the DEA on same day, and at end of the energy inspection .

• Estate Agent / Solicitor / Letting Agent – Full payment 30 days from invoice date via cheque

• Payments via cheque (made payable to ‘Easy Energy Assessments’) or cash (no Debit / Credit cards can be accepted).
